The most outrageous suggestion to come so far from The Dark Candidate is the not-so-subtle implication that gun owners will have a way of dealing with his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, if should win the presidency.
"If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks," said Donald Trump at a campaign rally Tuesday. "Although the Second Amendment people -- maybe there is, I don't know," he added.
His remarks have been widely taken as a threat to the Democratic candidate, or at minimum a subtle encouragement to gun owners to take action on their own.
Trump had already warned that as President, Mrs. Clinton would pick new members of the Supreme Court who would destroy the Second Amendment to the Constitution, thus taking away guns from American citizens.
Gun rights advocates have consistently quoted the second part of the Amendment, which states that "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." However, they ignore the first part. The entire Second Amendment reads: "A well regulated militia, being essential to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
